what are the best position to keep the hand after a fracture in hand. I recently met wit an accident and fractured my index finger and the upper side oh the palm...
It is better to consult an orthopod, he will decide if it needs a plaster of paris or a small surgery where wires are used to hold the pieces together. It is always better to keep your hand elevated above the level of the heart.

Yes, because there is a foreign material in the body it can get infected. Usually in children, the plate can be removed once the fracture has healed
