LICENSING OPPORTUNITIES

Good ideas don’t need a lot of words, but many of them do.

ORTHO HUB VENTURES is the founder of MIMEO MEDICAL. Both companies have an extensive patent portfolio of a wide variety of products that are available for exclusive and non-exclusive licensing agreements.

TANTO®

~50%

more resistance against toggling compared to pedicle screws. (*)

The Idea:

Pedicle screw toggling is one of main reasons for implant loosening with an incidence between 1.3% and 41% (1-5). Instead of injecting bone cement, we came up with a bone tissue preserving solution; TANTO®.

The TANTO® screw is an anatomically optimized pedicle fixation anchor that would eliminate biological and clinical risk of using bone cement. Our innovative cementless TANTO® screw is biomechanically superior to all current fixation concepts and could offer unrivaled stability against toggling.

Options:

Biomechanical benefits for patients and surgeons

TANTO® tip with cannulation.

Paddle-like surface contact inside vertebral body.

Direct contact to cortical bone inside the pedicle.

POWEHI™ SCREW

The Idea:

Our research has produced innovative technology to improve the pedicle screw using 3D-printing going way beyond surface roughness.

We present some of our unique patented design features. The screws can be easily integrated into your product portfolio. You choose which of the features is suited best for your purpose.

First 3d-printed screw implant with the same fatigue performance compared to CNC machined screws.

EXPECTED BENEFITS

POWEHI™ HEAD

The Idea:

The aim of the POWEHI head was to combine two current needs for pedicle screw systems: modularity with temporary locking. This novel head concept consists of only two parts. This offers significantly greater stability and safety.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

Clip-On Head

The screw shaft and POWEHI™ head are assembled during the surgery by clipping the screw shaft into the head. Turning the ring secures the screw shaft.

twist the ring to load / unload screw shanks

convert poly into mono,

at any angle, at any time

Temporary locking of polyaxiality

Temporary locking the polyaxiality of the POWEHI™ head provides correction control for spinal corrections. It allows for derotation maneuvers during complex deformities and supports the correction of vertebral fractures.

EXPECTED BENEFITS

AUTO-FIT TORX

The Idea:

The auto-fit Torx yields oblique chamfers inside the Torx, which automatically position the screwdriver orientation during the process of instrument engagement. This unique Torx profile is self-centering and self-orienting for the instruments.

It is perfectly suited for minimally-invasive
applications and can be applied to all kind of screws, including pedicle screws, regular
bone screws or set screws.
